The Langtoft Fun Run and Road Run

This well established annual village event, first began in 1988 to raise funds for the Langtoft Playgoup. The original 6.7 mile run started from the car park at the Waggon and Horses public house in the village, and from the playing field at East end for the 2 mile fun run. These races proved very popular, attracting runners from all over the county an deven further afield. At that time there was competition between West end and East End of Langtoft village.

In 1991 the races became metric and shortly after moved to their current start and finish area at the sports pavilion off Manor Close. Once the races were established and well organised, the Committee used the profits to help the community, and over the years many village projects have benefited from the village runs. These include; New gates for St Micheal’s Church, a basket ball net for the playing field, as well as donations to Langtoft Pre School , Langtoft Football Club, the Village hall committee, and the Red Cross

Each year the committee invites ideas from individuals and groups for the distribution of the profits in order to help the residents of Langtoft.
